3 C’s of Religion

I believe that a local, community church serves three very valuable purposes: community, ceremonies, and charity.  So, despite the fact that you might find a woeful lack of  reasonable discussion of the 3 mysteries of religion at your church, I recommend that you continue to participate in a local church until the day comes that our worldwide online community can organize into smaller local units.

“Community” simply refers to the gathering of friends, neighbors and colleagues in a positive environment.  This provides a time to socialize and bond with other members of the community, learn what is happening in their lives and organize to help those in need.

“Ceremonies”, or rituals, refer to celebrations of certain milestones in our lives.  These normally include birth, marriage, death and different levels of maturation like puberty,  amongst others.

“Charity”, or service, at a local level is probably the most important and rewarding forms of giving.  To those offering help with their time, energy and/or money, it is so much more gratifying to give that help to someone personally.  To those in need, it is comforting to know that friends and neighbors are there for you and even more satisfying to be able to return the favor to someone in the community at some point.
